Critical Bear update: Antonia the dwarf polar bear
Generally speaking this is a blog about philosophy, or if not philosophy, at least intellectual matters. However some CRITICAL BEAR NEWS has been bought to my attention. I feel it is my philanthropic duty to share this particular news. It would sadden me to know that my readers lived even a single further minute without this knowledge.
Antonia, a dwarf polar bear, lives at Zoom Erlebniswelt, Gelsenkirchen, Germany and she is wonderful :-).
She’s about 70 cm’s (2.33 feet) at the shoulders. Don’t think she’s a light weight though- she weighs 130kg- only a third of an ordinary polar bear according to these figures (which I have my doubts about)- she has the charms of both a Big Gorl and a Smol Gorl.
I love her.
This is her:
Thanks to http://polarbearsusa.blogspot.com/2017/02/my-antonia.html for some of the images.
Though I can’t watch it myself, this is apparently a video of her walking around.
I was unable to find information in English as to her current status. She would be into her thirties now if still alive- very senior for a polar bear. I wish this regal matriarch of my people the bears many more happy years.
There were a number of dwarf black bears, but sadly they were just that way due to malnourishment.
