Just us
I have been involved with and adjacent to circles that engage in direct action over the years, mostly when I was younger. We’re talking modest stuff:
· Occupying buildings
· Graffiti
· Locking onto stuff
· Property destruction targeted at corporations and governments (500 bucks worth at most)
· Squatting empty houses whose owners have left them vacant for years.
The people in these circles:
1. Don’t have conversations about this direct action without putting their phones 30 meters away (they believe that the government may have hacked their phones to enable 24 hour listening).
2. Only communicate by apps like signal with secure bilateral encryption and and then never use those conversations to mention or allude to anything illegal.
3. Destroy evidence meticilously.
Despite engaging in what could be said- with no unkindness- to be trumped up pranks. Pranks motivated by a sense of justice. Materially equivalent stuff to most of what these groups do happens all the time on school yards.
To see Epstein and mates write emails that can be said with only a little hyperbole to sound like:
“Yes it’s great to see the world economy in shambles, by the way here’s those highly clasified state secrets about banking reform you wanted. Paedophilia at brunch?”
Because they knew- or thought they knew- they were invulnerable is infuriating.
