I intend to vote for the Voice too, but surely “We should do this or else people who don’t support it will be emboldened” isn’t a good reason to change the Constitution?
It's certainly a terrible reason to put a referendum, but once the referendum is put, it seems like a good reason to support it, so long as the people in question really will be emboldened, and so long as that is contrary to your aims.
I don't buy the logic that we need an excellent reason to change the constitution, especially for pretty mechanically minor changes like this. The last thing we want is US style constitution worship. If anything, all else equal, I'm inclined to want to change it to avoid US style sclerosis.
And even if it were a poor reason by itself, it's not the only reason I give in the post but part of a compounding case.

Australians, please vote for the voice!
